Probably I should be devoid of any feelings. The more feelings I have, the weaker I become. When that happens, I am unable to make the most idealistic of decisions that I could. I would not be able to capitalize on situations and opportunities as I would previously like to. People have mentioned that I have changed.
Maybe I have.
Its hard for me to regain those humane feelings that I used to have anymore. I've turned back to what I was 2 years ago.
The realistic individual.
The ability to climb the career ladder in the fastest manner made possible. The ability to capture the attention of those with power. The ability to utilize power to create the ideal situations. The persuasive ability with the aid of vocal capabilities. For some reason, that has become my primary objective. My primary objective for life.
As previously penned down, I have really NO sex drive. No more dancing at the clubs, etc. Just sitting down and drinking while laying out my thoughts for what I should do to create ideal situations for career issues, client issues, etc. Cigarettes has become my source for inspiration. Despite the health concerns that it would bring about, I am still unable to bring myself to quit. Probably, its the only thing that is keeping me sane.
Understanding the mind is always important. However, I find it a daunting task even to understand myself sometimes. To enter the corporate battlefield, devoid of all emotions has become common in society.
In Japan right now, at my hometown, "suicide clubs" are being formed for individuals to commit suicide with a total stranger. Intruiging as it may seem, Singapore would have a 73% chance of encountering that situation as global competition toughens up. Unknowing to many, Singapore has already entered the same paths of Japan's social problem equation.
1) More Materialistic individuals whereby a teenager demands at least a branded item like "Louis Vuitton" & "Gucci" in their collection of fashion accessories.
2) The society has become to a stage amidst the mind of youngsters where one night stands are extremely common. Personally, I have never been in one myself. However, with the sight of so many one night stands just randomly popping up. Amazing as it may be, I am truly astounded by that fact.
3) Stress levels in companies are always rising whereas workload is probably even dropping. Maybe it has always been the same. However, most of the younger generation are pampered individuals.
Thus, we can compare a sales executive working 10 years ago with the same workload, coping with ease, compared to an individual today, with the same amount of workload, feeling that it is far too much for them. A few months later, that individual would quit the company while citing stress levels as an excuse.
Sad? Isn't it? Probably the happiest people are the tribespeople. But the World is fair. They have a simple and happy life. Their main worry is about food. We have a pampered life. Our main worry is sustaining that pampered life. So which is better?
