Well, promised that i would write a story!! well, here it is!!!!
2 years has passed since the mourning of Chloe, a girl, a sister, an irreplaceable friend. Noone really knew what went on in her head as she plunged herself into a period of extreme depression as she consumed excessive amounts of Aneroxin that ended her life, her story. Being an exceptional pianist, she could create beautiful tunes out of the blue that would bring on the smiles and the tears with the melodies she churns out. Hitting the newspaper headlines of being the youngest to ever attain the Grade 8 standard, the country started to believe in her music and eventually for her to become a world class musician.
Life for Chloe was truly a perfect child's dream with loving parents, a big house and her very own grand piano made of glass. Growing up was extremely fun for a little girl with her carefree and bubbly personality. Piano was literally her passion, her life, her soul. At 8, she had even wrote a piece for her parent's 10th wedding anniversary which throughly touched her parents hearts.
Life for her was truly a blessing even as she had reached the stressful stages of school life. However, suddenly, she had started to fade away from her bubbly personality slowly, but surely. From the happy faces and constant uplifting tunes that she had churned out for musicians and for her own musical compilation, she had dropped to new lows with dejected emotions and melancholic tunes. This happened exactly 3 months before she had popped in her first round of aneroxin.
Noone knew the exact reason for the sudden depression that she has but one theory has been discussed among our circle of friends who were not only shocked at her passing on, but were also grieved by a lot of a beautiful friend who had a heart of gold.
It was the International music festival which was held in Oslo, Norway, where she participated in the bi-annual Platinum "tau geh" competition where composers churn out tunes that they have created in a display of creativity and originality. Chloe had churned out the best of tunes in the first few rounds with her uplifting tunes which had imprinted smiles on the faces of so many people. Support for her was also strong as friends and family went all the way there to show our support. But one thing noticed was that she cried everytime after her performance. Even though she had still displayed her cheerful personality and acted as if nothing had happened, i could definitely sense some grief and moments of pain in her.
Concerned as a buddy, I took the liberty of bringing her around Oslo with my handy dandy "Norway for Idiots" travel guide as a group along with our other friends who came in support of her. We went to "input Norway's most fun places here" and had a blast of a time where we played and dined hard. It was from then on that i truly sensed that she was truly happy.
However, the moments of happiness lasted only for a while as she had suddenly played more melancholic and sad tunes which had brought down her standing by a bit as the judges were rather appauled at her sudden change of playing style and mood. One could definitely sense grief and despair amidst the notes that she was playing. However, as hard as we tried, including her family, Chloe chose to remain silent and indifferent towards her recent change of personality. Suddenly, it was as if she changed into totally another person.
The finals were here and we were lost on how to lift her spirits up. It was as if there was no more hope as she played the same melacholic tunes that had sank most of her supporter's hearts. Despaired, broken, it was as if something had struck her or even spiritually possessed her. It was no surprise when the results came out. She had lost her 1st place and plunged down to 3rd place. Upon announcing the results, she still remained indifferent and now, even emotionless. Standing at a corner and not wanting to be disturbed, little to no words were exchanged on the long way home.
Back home, absentism during lessons, not picking up phone calls, locking herself up in her room, traces that she had really been suffering from depression was now evident. It was a short time before she had ended all of the pain she had suddenly picked up with her overdose of Aneroxin. Many were appauled and frightened about how and why she had actually died. The always smiling, cheerful girl that we all had known as Chloe is now gone forever. Many grieved and broke down during her funeral as many were strongly attached to her emotionally. Friendships and sisterhood formed now had a big gaping hole in them. The whole school mourned at her passing on with many still bearing tears and sadness from her sudden and shocking departure. Memories and momentos were put together in a board and put on her coffin as we paid our last respects to Chloe in a Catholic Church then finally, at Choa Chu Kang cemetary.
I had made a few visits to her tomb to have a small talk on the things that we had done, what are the latest happenings in school, etc. However, i had always felt miserable since her loss. Not having the big appetites that i used to had, not throwing in the lame jokes which would humour the class with huge bursts of laughter and even playing the same level of basketball which was my passion as I, too had broken down at her loss.
A fortnight has passed since her mourning and the teacher assigned me to clear her locker and send back her possessions back to her parents. A feeling of sadness and a desire to cry came again as i opened her locker and packed her possessions onto a box.
However, i got the massive shock of my life as i opened it. Never would i believe the reason that she would plunge into such depression would be due to...................................................................................................................................................................................
Now that's the end of part one!!! LOL!!! hope you guys like it!!!!
